This page has nothing to do with the Carcassonne Game, but it does have a lot to do with our neighborhood gaming group.

Just to get things started, the on line video for the game is located at: The Rules

After watching the video, there is only one rule that I'm not positive that we followed properly; moving from airport to airport.

The only way you can fly from one airport to another is if your trekker is on an airport at the start of your turn. We might have played that flying to another airport was your turn, but the rule explained in the video is that flying is just an extra movement that you can perform before you take your turn with the cards in your hand.

We played our first game with all of our cards face up in front of us. We eventually need to start playing with our cards kept private!

Basic Rules:

  • Unfold the board in the center of the table.
  • In turn, place your trekker on an airport
  • Place the matching suitcase board in front of you.
Make sure that the player count in the bottom right is correct.
  • Randomly place colored Souvenir cubes on each destination circle.
  • And place the 4 Most Souvenir Cubes cards next to the board.
Make sure that the player count at the bottom left of each card is correct!
  • Place a random region bonus token upside down on each region.
  • Shuffle the 48 destinaion cards and place them text side up on the table.
  • Display the top 4 destination cards face up on the table.
  • Place the 3 and 5 victory point tokens above the last two cards.
  • Shuffle the Trek Cards with 4 face up and deal 3 cards to each player.
  • Place the "Exchange Rate" and "Catch Me If You Can" cards in the Journey Log.

Now it is time to start taking turns

When the game is over, add the value of your Destination Cards, your Most Souvenir Cube Cards, your suitcase score for Souvenir Cubes, plus your region bonus and victory point tokens. If there is a tie, count your Souvenir Cubes!

The Journey Log cards

So far we have only played with the default "Exchange Rate" and "Catch Me If You Can" Journey Log cards.

At some point we will have to get a better understanding of what each of the other Journey cards mean so we can start playing our games with random Journey End cards!

Special Note: This game usually takes 30 to 60 minutes. It will be a good let's get started game or just one more game at the end of the evening. The game is limited to 5 players, so, if we invite another couple, we should consider creating a Blue Trekker and suitcase, we might be able to expand the game to 6 players!

The Blue Suitcase is easy to make and print, but I have no idea how to make the actual Blue Trekker!
